Billing and Payments
This covers everything under Billing & Payments on the left side of Utilops. Making bills. Looking one up. Taking money in and giving money back. Payment plans. Past due accounts. And the jobs Utilops can do for you every morning on its own.
This is the money part of your office, so take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need it. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for the page you are on.
Start with the quick start pages
These are the jobs you will do every day and every month. Each one is a short page with pictures.
- 3. Take a payment at the counter
- 4. Post the day's mailed and online payments

Then the lessons

Then check what you learned. Eight questions, about five minutes.
Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.
If something looks different
Rates live somewhere else. How much you charge, your fees, your tiers and your taxes are all under Rates and Tariffs. Billing and Payments uses those numbers to make the bills.
Your books live somewhere else too. Deposits, the general ledger, vendor bills and the bank statement are under Accounting.
Printed bills and notices. Utilops makes the pages for you. Your office prints them, or a mailing service prints and mails them for you. That service is set up once, and it is not part of your monthly price.
Texts, emails and phone calls are included. There is no charge for a message and no limit on how many you send.
