Payment Portal
This covers everything under Payment Portal on the left side of Utilops. The portal is the website where your customers see their bill and pay it. You decide how it looks, what it can do, what notices it shows, and what emails and texts it sends. Card and bank payments are turned on by Utilops once you send us the application.
Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.
Start with the quick start pages
Then the lessons
- Find your portal address and see it as a customer
- Put your logo and colors on the portal
- Switch a portal feature on or off
- Post a notice on the portal
- Answer common questions before they call
- Change the emails and texts the portal sends
- Publish your refund policy
- Use your own web address for the portal
- Undo a mistake
Then check what you learned. Eight questions, about five minutes.
Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.
If something looks different
Every feature is included. There is nothing to unlock and no higher plan. If a feature is off, it is because your utility turned it off, or because Utilops has not finished setting up your phone and text line yet.
Card fees are set by Utilops. The page under Payment Portal that shows the card and bank fees is read only. It says whether the customer or the utility pays. Call Utilops to change it.
Pay by text and pay by phone. Both are switched on from Portal Features. Lesson 3 shows where. They stay locked until Utilops has set up your phone and text line.
Some pages are hidden until you ask. Setup & Deployment, Branding & Design, Portal Features, Notifications & Alerts, Analytics & Reports, Integrations and Domains show when an administrator turns on the advanced pages for your login.
Your public website is somewhere else. A full website with news, pages and forms is under Public Website. The portal is only the bill and pay part.
