Customer Management

This covers everything under Customer Management on the left side of Utilops. Finding an account. Adding a new customer. Writing down a call. Setting a follow up. Moving one customer out and the next one in. Grouping customers. And joining two accounts that belong to the same person.

Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.

Start with the two quick start pages

Then the lessons

  1. Find a customer and read their account
  2. Add a new customer
  3. Write down a call and set a follow up
  4. Add another person who can call about the account
  5. Change how a customer gets their bill
  6. Move one customer out and the next one in
  7. Make a group of customers
  8. Join two accounts for the same person
  9. Undo a mistake

Then check what you learned. Seven questions, about five minutes.

Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.

If something looks different

Your office may call these people something else. Utilops says customer. Some offices say account holder, some say ratepayer. It is the same person and the same page.

A customer can have more than one service. Water, sewer and gas all sit on one account, each with its own meter and its own rate. You do not make a second account for the sewer.

Written in plain words so anyone can follow it. If a step does not match your screen, tell us.
