Compliance

This covers everything under Compliance on the left side of Utilops. What the state and the EPA want from you, and when. Your wells and plants as the state knows them. Samples due and samples taken. Lab reports. Violations and what you did about them. The monthly report. Backflow tests, service lines, chemicals and incidents.

Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.

Start with the quick start pages

Then the lessons

  1. Add a well, a plant or a sampling point
  2. Check the deadline calendar
  3. Add a deadline
  4. Bring in a lab report
  5. Handle a violation
  6. Record a backflow test
  7. Add a service line to the inventory
  8. Log an emergency incident
  9. Undo a mistake

Then check what you learned. Eight questions, about five minutes.

Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.

If something looks different

Water only pages. Backflow Tests, Backflow Event Log, Service Line Inventory, Treatment Chemicals, Well Readings and Water Quality Monitoring show only when your utility sells water. A gas utility sees Gas Safety instead, with leak surveys, odorant checks and the yearly PHMSA report.

Regulatory Permits shows only when the wastewater module is on. The WaterSense pages show only when the EPA WaterSense program is turned on for you.

Treatment Chemicals and Well Readings have no lesson here. Treatment Chemicals works exactly like the service line page, lesson 7: Add Chemical, fill in the boxes, save. Well Readings is a report. The numbers on it come from the daily logs you fill in under Operations Logs.

Submit to Agency is a status page. Filing happens on Report Generator with Mark as Filed, quick start page 23. A report that has been sent to the state cannot be unfiled.

Inspection Packets keeps your certificates and papers. Drop a file on a category to add it. Print Inspection Packet at the top prints every document in one bundle for the inspector.

Some pages may be hidden. Audit & Export, Equipment Mapping, Health Incident Reporting, Auto-Population Engine and Settings are for the person who set up Utilops. Nothing on them is needed for monthly work.

Written in plain words so anyone can follow it. If a step does not match your screen, tell us.
