Documents

This covers everything under Documents on the left side of Utilops. Your own files. The bills, letters and notices Utilops made for you. A customer's papers. Making the same letter for hundreds of customers at once. Sending letters out in the mail. Getting a paper signed online. And the templates every one of those documents comes from.

A template is the blank form. A document is one filled in copy of it for one customer. Change the template once and every letter you make after that follows it.

Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.

Start with the quick start page

Then the lessons

  1. Keep your own files in Utilops
  2. Find and print a document you already made
  3. Look at one customer's papers
  4. Get a form from the library and change it
  5. Make the same letter for many customers
  6. Send your letters out in the mail
  7. Get a paper signed online
  8. Undo a mistake

Then check what you learned. Seven questions, about five minutes.

Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.

If something looks different

Printed mail is the one thing that is not included. Texts, emails and phone calls are part of your Utilops subscription. Paper that goes through the post office is not. You either print and mail it at the office yourself, or you sign up with a mailing company of your own in the marketplace. Lesson 6 covers both.

Signing online may be off for your utility. It needs a signing company set up first. If the page tells you to set one up, ask your administrator.

Written in plain words so anyone can follow it. If a step does not match your screen, tell us.
