Operations Logs
This covers everything under Operations Logs on the left side of Utilops. Seeing which rounds are due. Writing up a round. Finishing one you started. Fixing one that was sent back. Finding an old one. Approving the crew's logs. Setting how often each round is due. And making a new kind of log when the state asks for a new number.
Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.
Start with the quick start page
Then the lessons
- See what is due today
- Finish a log you started
- Fix a log that was sent back
- Find an old log
- Approve a log or send it back
- Set how often a round is due
- Make a new kind of log
- Undo a mistake
Then check what you learned. Seven questions, about five minutes.
Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.

Your log cards match what you sell. A water utility sees well, plant and distribution logs. A gas utility sees gas logs too. The cards under Create Log are the ones set up for your utility.
No log is called daily. A log type is the form. How often a round is due, and who does it, is set under Assignments, lesson 6. The same form can be daily for one person and weekly for another.
Log Types, Assignments and Analytics are for the person who runs the plant or the office. An operator only needs the first four lessons.
The monthly report to the state is made under Compliance. It reads the numbers from these logs, so a log filled in today saves work at the end of the month.
