Integrations

This covers everything under Integrations on the left side of Utilops. The other systems your utility uses, and how they talk to Utilops. Your meter reading system. Card and bank payments. A mailing company for printed bills. The state and federal reporting systems. And the page that tells you whether each one is healthy.

Most of these are set up once and then left alone. Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.

Start with the quick start pages

There is no quick start page for this part. If you are new, read 1. Sign in and find your way around first.

Then the lessons

  1. Add a connection from the Marketplace
  2. Give your meter company its address and key
  3. Apply for card and bank payments
  4. Sign up with a mailing company
  5. Check on letters in the mail queue
  6. See that every connection is healthy
  7. Pause or remove a connection
  8. Undo a mistake

Then check what you learned. Seven questions, about five minutes.

Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.

If something looks different

Card and bank payments are set up by Utilops, not by you. You send us one application. We connect the payment company and set the fees. You never type a key for it.

A mailing company is the one thing that costs extra. Texts, emails and phone calls are part of your Utilops subscription. Printed letters that go through the post office are not. You either print and mail at the office, or you sign up with a mailing company of your own in the Marketplace and pay them.

Maps are included. Utilops pays for the map service. Mapping Providers is only for a utility that wants to use its own map account instead.

Signing papers online is built in. E-Signature Setup shows it is active. You do not need to do anything there.

Some pages are hidden until you ask. Federal Compliance, State Compliance, Billing Systems, Mapping Providers, Monitoring & Health, Print & Mail Services, SCADA Monitoring, E-Signature Setup and Webhook Logs show when an administrator turns on the advanced pages for your login.

Written in plain words so anyone can follow it. If a step does not match your screen, tell us.
