Data Management
This covers everything under Data Management on the left side of Utilops. Bringing a file of records into Utilops. Sending records out to a spreadsheet. Saving how a file's columns line up. Jobs that run on their own. Fixing rows that failed. And the two pages that give you back what you lost: the Recycle Bin and Change History.
Take the lessons in order the first time. After that, come back to any one when you need a refresher. Inside Utilops, the Show me how button at the top of every page replays the walkthrough for that page.
Start with the quick start pages
There is no quick start page for this part. If you are new, read 1. Sign in and find your way around first.
Then the lessons
- Bring a file of records into Utilops
- Send records out to a spreadsheet
- Save how a file's columns line up
- Set a job to run on its own
- Fix rows that failed to come in
- Bring back a record you deleted
- Undo an older action or a whole import
- Undo a mistake
Then check what you learned. Eight questions, about five minutes.
Each page has a blue Show me button. It opens your Utilops and points at each thing to click. You do the step for real, then press Next. One button walks one path.
If something looks different
Your old records came over already. When Utilops moved your records from your previous system, that work shows under Migration History. You do not run it yourself. If something looks wrong there, call Utilops.
Water Utility Toolkit is water only. It is a page of shortcuts for meter readings, water quality and service lines. A gas only utility does not see it.
Some pages are hidden until you ask. Templates & Mapping, Change History and Error Handling show when an administrator turns on the advanced pages for your login.
Readings come in another way too. If your meter company sends readings on its own, you do not import them. See the Integrations lessons.
