2. Place your customers on the map
When you need this: after a big import, or once a month after new accounts are added. Utilops takes each street address and finds its spot on the map. Until that runs, a customer has no pin, and a message drawn on the map cannot reach them.
Steps
On the left side of the screen, click GIS Mapping, then click Address Validation.
Read the four boxes under Validation Overview. Customer Addresses is how many you have. Validated Addresses are already on the map. Needs Review are not yet. Accuracy Score says how sure Utilops is.
At the top right of the page, click the blue button next to Refresh. It checks every address that is not placed yet, and stays busy while it runs.

Wait. A few hundred addresses take about a minute.
Made a mistake? Click Undo on the green message that appears, or open Show me how at the top and pick Undo a mistake.
You are done when
A green message says every address that could be placed was placed. The Validated Addresses number goes up and Needs Review goes down.
If something looks different
Needs Review did not reach zero. Some addresses could not be found. A missing house number, a PO box, or a road the map does not know. Lesson 3 shows how to fix them one at a time.
The blue button is missing. Only staff who may manage maps can run this. Ask your administrator.
The page says there is nothing to check. Every customer is already on the map. Nothing to do.
It says the mapping provider is not set up. Utilops has not been connected to a map service for your utility yet. Under Integrations, then Mapping Providers, an administrator can turn it on.
